Trust me. We’ve all been there. The good news is that there’s a powerful tool available to all of us: Positive Thinking. 

What I hope to do with this message is to help you understand… that you are not simply observing life, and you’re certainly not “attracting it” (a common metaphysical cliche).

YOU ARE CREATING YOUR LIFE.

You CHOOSE to give meaning to your thoughts because you give them attention.

Any thought you have – you can choose to either illuminate or darken. Make the room happy and bright, or darken the room and make everyone want to leave immediately.

How Do I Stop Negative Thoughts?

Picture this: You wake up in the morning, and before you even step out of bed, negative thoughts start flooding your mind like a torrential downpour. It’s as if the dark clouds of pessimism have taken up permanent residence in your head. But fear not, Soulopreneur, for you hold the key to dispel these gloomy thoughts and embrace the light.

The first step is to become aware of your negative thinking patterns. Acknowledge and observe these thoughts without judgment. Once you identify them, challenge their validity. Are these thoughts based on facts or simply assumptions? Replace negative thoughts with positive affirmations, repeating them like a mantra. With time and practice, you’ll notice a significant shift in your mindset.

Can I share a personal story with you? We’re friends, right? I have the same struggles as you…

I rented a nice cabin on Lake Oauchita in Arkansas and I invited my two kids, their partners, Karl’s three kids (Karl is my fiance), and their partners to join us. This was the first time our kids were meeting and I really wanted them to get to know each other.

This was very important to me so I made these plans a year in advance. I checked in with everyone to see what would be a good date, and I booked it… 

As we got closer to our cabin time, things began to rearrange themselves. Life started to happen. In the end, Only one of the five kids had planned ahead to be there with us the entire time.

We were all together. All of the kids were there at the same time. Everyone was having a BLAST, except for me. I was disappointed, and it showed. I wanted everyone to be together the entire time on this special trip. I was focused on the quantity of time— the number of days we were all together instead of the quality of the time.

Karl wrapped his arms around me and said, “Honey… Look at what a GREAT TIME they all had together the other night.”

He reminded me of my original goal, which was to get everyone together so they could meet, have fun, and spend quality time getting to know each other. You know what?

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

At that moment, I had a choice.

Sure – my original plan changed. I could have chosen to be disappointed. Or, I could have chosen to feel successful and be grateful that it worked out so well.

So I did.

How Do You Surround Yourself With Positive Energy?

When I chose positive thinking, we were ALL able to enjoy our time together and the kids even asked when we could do it again. 

Can you imagine how it would have been if I had decided to stay upset? I sure as heck wouldn’t have gotten any requests to repeat our family get-together. Even though my plan didn’t unfold as I had envisioned, it was a big success.

We have no neutral thoughts.

We can either choose positive thinking or negative thinking, and we can’t choose both. However, the light is always brighter than the dark. Think about what happens when you light a match in a pitch-black room… that tiny speck of light appears. The darkness cannot smother it.

So, how do you surround yourself with positive energy in order to shift into positive thinking? You just have to be AWARE and ATTENTIVE. 

You are a divine being, connected to a limitless source of energy and love. To tap into this abundant flow, it’s crucial to align your thoughts, emotions, and actions with positivity.

Energy is contagious, positive thinking is contagious, and joy is contagious.

So, let the infectious enthusiasm and optimism of those around you infuse your being with positive thinking.

Close your eyes and envision your dreams as if they have already manifested. Feel the joy, excitement, and fulfillment as you immerse yourself in this reality. By aligning your thoughts with your desired outcome, you open the door for the universe to conspire in your favor.

How Can I Train My Mind to Be Positive?

Training your mind to embrace positive thinking requires consistent effort and gentle self-compassion. Remember, you are on a journey of self-discovery and growth, and there is no perfect pace or finish line. 

Let’s face it, the pull of negativity in our society is so strong that most of us spend our day jumping from one negative thought to another. So how do we break the cycle?

  1. Practice self-care. Nourish your mind, body, and soul with activities that bring you joy and peace. Whether it’s indulging in a relaxing bath, spending time in nature, or engaging in creative pursuits, make time for yourself and prioritize self-love.
  2. Surround yourself with positive influences. Seek the company of individuals who radiate positivity and support your journey. Engage in positive thinking, read inspiring books, or listen to soul-nourishing podcasts. Remember, the energy you surround yourself with has a profound impact on your own vibrational frequency.
  3. Embrace the power of affirmations and positive thinking. Affirmations are like seeds you plant in the fertile soil of your mind. Nurture them with consistency and belief, and watch them bloom into empowering thoughts that shape your reality.
